Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
The student years are an awesome opportunity. They are years of exploring faith, identity and purpose. We believe that our identity is found in Christ Jesus. For those who come to college or university as Christians it can be a foundational time of deepening faith, learning about Jesus, being inspired about our lives ahead. For others, it is sometimes an opportunity to discover the radical teachings of Jesus for the first time, and find meaning and purpose through a relationship with God.
We believe that all this can be best accomplished through involvement with a Christian community that is led by the Holy Spirit. We want to help people build relationships with other Christians, for support, learning and provoking, to enable us to grow during our years of studying (and to have fun too). We want to live lives centered on the teachings of Jesus to learn to be radical followers of Christ, and to hear the voice of God calling us to participate in His plans for the Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven.
We believe the message of Jesus is really good news to the world. We want to see a group of people, deeply committed to Christ, who will be good news and speak good news to their friends and communities, and show people the real Jesus with passion, grace and compassion.
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Col 1:9-14
