Vision
The student years are a tremendous opportunity. For many, it is the first time they have lived away from home, and continue to explore their identity and purpose on this planet. For those who come to college or university as Christians it can be a foundational time of deepening faith, learning about Jesus, being inspired about our lives ahead. For others, it is sometimes an opportunity to discover the radical teachings of Jesus for the first time, and find meaning and purpose through a relationship with God.
We believe that all this can be best accomplished through involvement with a Christian community. We want to help people find other Christians, for support, learning and provoking, to enable us to grow during our years of studying. We want people’s lives to be infused with the teachings of Jesus, to learn to be radical followers of Christ, and to hear the voice of God calling us to participate in His plan to change the world.
We believe the message of Jesus is really good news to the world. Often the Christian message is insipid and uninspiring. We want to see a group of people, deeply committed to Christ, who will be good news and speak good news to their friends and communities, and show people the real Jesus, that moves beyond the caricatures that are so popular today.
To implement this, the student community meet in cell groups, gather together monthly for teaching and to worship & pray, go away for a weekend together, prayer walk, engage with community action, and have various learning opportunities.
