Formation
of Development Team.
Every
fortnight, with emails whistling to and fro in between,
a development team of Rupert Ward, David Hewitt, David McNeish
and Andrew Hook meet up. This group is supported by consultative
advice form Neil Duguid (Project management) and Peter Rice
(legal/property) with the finance group of Lindsey Whitehouse,
Matthew Reilly, David H, Rupert and Andrew providing financial
oversight and the Leadership Team and Colin Symes in particular
keeping developments on track with special regard to mission.
Project
name: suggestions.
Currently
we are considering giving the building and missional project
a name, one that could be adopted as a title/icon for the
project for the web site, printed materials, for updates
and fundraising, for focus, colour and reference to faith.
One
possibility is to use the story and image of the impala
(an African deer) which David Hewitt referred to in his
talk on Sunday 12th March 2007. Link
to sermon download.
David
quoted John Emmons: The African impala can jump to
a height of over 10 feet and cover a distance of greater
than 30 feet. Yet these magnificent creatures can be kept
in an enclosure in any zoo with a 3-foot wall. The animals
will not jump if they cannot see where their feet will fall.
Faith is the ability to trust what we cannot see, and with
faith we are freed from the flimsy enclosures of life that
only fear allows to entrap us.
So on
this theme the following names have been suggested:
a) Impala
Leap Project, Finding our higher purpose
b) Impala
Jump Building Project
c) The
Impala Building and Missional Project
What
do you think of a), b), c)?
It need
not follow this theme. What ideas have you got? Send your
thoughts in to andrew@cce.uk.net
or office@cce.uk.net
