Phase
1 Building Work - Progress
Following
the offering and pledges in May, enough money has been raised
to proceed with Phase 1 of the redevelopment of the King's
Hall. This involves subdividing the top classroom (with
Regius moving to Wellsprings) into 4 meeting rooms for pastoral
meeting, counselling, advice, spiritual direction and other
small meetings. The lower classroom will be now available
as a "small hall" for meetings of up to 40 people.
We are going to buy some chairs, lights, coffee tables so
that it can be used as an informal meeting space, but would
also be equipped for children's meetings (on Sunday), or
as a "training room" (for any courses we run).
You can view the plans for the top room here.
The
building work (for the top room) will start on 6th August,
with the builders being in for 4 weeks, and then some painting,
final fix, and carpets being laid in September. The lower
room just needs painting and equipping. We are aiming for
both rooms to be fully functional by the beginning of October.
This
alleviates the immediate crisis of space in the King's Hall;
however we recognise this is a short term solution. From
the autumn, we will continue to raise funds for further
phases of the building work, to create the building that
facilitates the missional church we are becoming.
